South Ranch

The Cibola Sportsman's Club's famed South Ranch is available exclusively for charter groups of twelve (12) to sixteen (16) hunters and now offers opportunities for day shooters. Click here to find out about hunting fees.

The ranch has seven heated pit blinds, each accommodating four hunters. Each blind is equipped with its own decoys and radios.

The South Ranch may be chartered seven days  per week. The ranch is located adjacent to the Cibola National Wildlife Refuge.

Bob Fields, the club's senior guide, has life-long goose hunting experience and is an excellent and accomplished caller. Both Bob and our camp host Ron Miller, reside on the property and will ensure your stay with us is both memorable and productive.

The South Ranch is located in a proven flyway. The geese traverse this flyway on their daily flights from Lake Cibola to the Cibola refuge.

The South Ranch camp area now consists of a club office, bird cleaning station, a bunkhouse facility for large groups, cabins, mobile homes and R.V. hook-ups to accommodate hunters during their stay at the club. Click here to learn more about overnight accommodations available on the club's grounds.

F.A.Q.

Q: What can I expect from a typical day at the Cibola Sportsman's Club?

A: The club's camp comes to life well before sunrise. Hunter's gather around the campfire and the club office for coffee and to meet the club's guide. The guide will go over the blind assignments, instructions, and basic club rules with the hunters. Our goal is to have all hunters in their assigned blinds one half-hour before shooting time. The guide will be in contact with each blind throughout the day's hunt. Lunch is delivered to the hunting field each day (usually by 10:00 a.m.). Hunter's are free to leave the hunting area when they choose, but the guide will instruct them when the best time for them to make the move is, so as not to disrupt the hunt for others in the field. When hunter's are finished for the day and if they have bagged some birds, the guide with assist them with field dressing their birds at the bird cleaning station in camp. By this time hunters are usually ready for a well-deserved nap.
